Vivian A. Hagstrom, age 77, of East Greenwich, formerly of Warwick, died on Thursday, April 18, 2024, of a long-term heart condition at Boston's Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Raised in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Alice (Johnson) and Eric Hagstrom, big sister to her much beloved brother, the late Carl Hagstrom.
Vivian graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at Community College of RI. She last worked at Southern New England Rehabilitation Center at Fatima Hospital as an executive assistant.
Ms. Hagstrom was an avid participant in Women’s Wilderness Weekends at URI's W. Alton Jones Campus for over 20 years and served as President of the Planning Committee. For many years she was a Big Sister for Big Sisters of Rhode Island.
Vivian was a pure, kind soul with a great love for children, animals, theater, travel, and games. But her greatest love was for her devoted group of "sisters and brothers" who had become her family. She will be sorely missed by all.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00AM-10:00AM. Interment will be private.
